The Hopi Black Dye Sunflower is an amazing dye, pollinator friendly, food producing plant. It grows tall (last year one was over 8 ft tall)! I use the seeds to dye silk, cotton, hemp and bamboo. I use more seeds to replant, save and swap. Then I leave a few plants completely for the birds and bees to enjoy! The drawing on this mug is of an exact sunflower that we grew here last year. Some of the seeds are in dye kits and seed packets for planting. I love and respect this flower and all it gives.
